Dual-core technology
The Pavilion dv2700t features powerful Intel Core 2 Duo processors: with two execution cores on one chip, it can run multiple multimedia apps without slowing your system. This means enhanced games, music, photography, and video editing, plus significantly better performance, for instance, when watching a high-definition movie and working on demanding graphics at the same time.

The latest look
This model's high-gloss, black and bronze coating with "Verve" pattern is sure to turn heads. The exterior is also super sturdy and durable; you get latch-free closure, touch-technology media launch buttons, and an AC power port that lights up when you're charging the battery.

Your own videoconferences
Stay in touch with friends and family using the integrated low-light VGA webcam and two omni-directional microphones.

Fingerprint security (optional)
Tired of trying to keep track of multiple passwords? Simply swipe your finger across the optional integrated reader on the side of the panel to log on to your Pavilion dv2700t and to password-protected Web sites and documents.

Better viewing and sound
The 14.1" high-definition BrightView widescreen lets you see 4 percent more than our 14" size, and the 16:10 aspect ratio positions two pages side by side for easy viewing. You'll get awesome games and multimedia with the Nvidia GS graphics card (128MB dedicated video memory), and high-quality audio from integrated Altec-Lansing stereo speakers. You and a friend can enjoy music without disturbing others; just get two sets of stereo earbud headphones. The integrated HDMI port (with discrete graphics option only) lets you view high-definition content on your HDTV (cable sold separately).

Music, photos, videos
The dv2700t has the latest version of HP QuickPlay 3.6, which lets you launch DVDs, music, and photos at the touch of a button. You can control media from up to 10 feet away with the remote, which can be tucked away in the ExpressCard slot. Transfer photos from your digital camera to the dv2700t via the 5-in-1 digital media card reader, then simplify your photo editing and organization with the Photosmart Premier software. You can create CDs and DVDs, then burn your own, silkscreen-quality, laser-etched labels on discs with the LightScribe option on the SuperMulti DVD+/RW/R drive.

Easy connections
Use the HP xb3000 Notebook Expansion Base (sold separately) to connect the dv2700t to your peripherals, including a monitor, for a true desktop PC experience. Other ports include two USB 2.0, an ExpressCard/54 slot, an RJ-11, an RJ-45, an IEEE 1394 FireWire, an S-Video, and a Consumer IR. You also get optional Intel Pro/Wireless 4965AGN WLAN with Bluetooth. And you can connect in more places without having to hunt for hotspots with the optional Verizon Wireless V740 1XEVDO PC ExpressCard (service activation required).

Review1:
I just retired a more expensive laptop that was riddled with problems. Soured by the former manufacturer my first goal was to determine which brand of computer I was going to rest my faith. I determined that HP was a good candidate because of its reputation for reliability. My other requirements for a laptop was to find something around or below $1,000, small, easily portable and had a great battery life. The HP Dv2700t special edition fit all of these requirements; It weighs 5.5 lbs and almost fits in my purse. It is so light I can carry it with one hand. The 14.1" WXGA High Def widescreen provides for a small laptop with clear, crisp viewing. The 12-cell lithium ion battery is amazing. I have yet to run the battery entirely down, even when watching a movie or surfing the net. The Intel Core Duo processor is more than adequate for our usage; surfing the net, photoshop, viewing pictures and watching movies. The case has a sleek bronze and black graphic finish. Although it looks nice fingerprints do build up quickly and the finish already has a few scratches. HP did provide a buffing cloth which knocks out the fingerprints but I am concerned about what the finish will look like after a few years of use. I was hesitant to get a laptop operated by Windows Vista but have not had any problems with the operating system. Boot up is very slow. This laptop was a great deal for the money and I would recommend it to anyone.
